Give your workout a lift with the functional training rig that was recently installed on the Courts Plus fitness floor. The rig provides numerous options for cardio and strength training, including bars, a heavy bag for boxing or martial arts and a climbing fireman’s rope.
Multifunctional equipment is becoming increasingly popular because it allows a number of people to work out at one time and builds variety into a workout. “Functional exercises like pull ups, battle rope, TRX, monkey bars and box jumps can be used in circuit style, fast paced sets, where one can rotate with another user quickly,” says Fitness Supervisor Anthony Larocco. “Whether you’re strength training with intervals alone, or in a small group, you can do it on a rig.”
Members are invited to give the rig equipment a try and to get creative with how they build their workout. Those who are intrigued by the new equipment, but feel a little intimidated about getting started are encouraged to ask a personal trainer for help. They can provide tips on using the equipment safely and efficiently.
Courts Plus is also publishing instructional videos on its Facebook page where personal trainers demonstrate safe exercises that can be performed using the new rig. As always, demonstrating proper form and keeping safety first should be a priority in any workout routine.
